Depending on the width of the browser window, sometimes not everything in the top banner can be seen due to size limitations. In this case pressing the menu icon expands the top banner to make room for the missong items. However, and again depending on the width of the window, sometimes the "Profile" (or "Metrics" if not logged in) appears on top of the search field, and clicking in the search field brings you to the profile (or metrics) page.
