Closed: Pushed None Opened 9 years ago by gnovi.

What the badge should be granted for:
The organizer of Software Freedom Day Event with fedora related activities
Badge description (like ):
"You organised SFD with fedora activities!"
Anything else we need to know:

#292 is similar idea but for attendees and speaker instead of organizers in this.
I think they are all worth.

Who is going to be in charge of deciding who gets this badge and who does not? How is it going to be awarded?

Extra information: for fedora-specific events, nb has been appointed as the go-to person for figuring that out. See the discussion and related links in #250.

I can't push out this badge until that question is solved.

I think that this badge design is more appropriate for an attendee badge- it is designed in the same style as other attendee badges. I would like to see a badge for organizing events similar to the speaker badge(https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/fossasia-2014-speaker) that can be easily used for many events.

It is easy for attendee's badge. We can print QR code, put somewhere at the event venue for attendees to scan it.

For speaker's badge, we can have another special QR code or organizers can decide manually.

For organizer's badge, nb (or me, if you need another person) can easily check on http://softwarefreedomday.org/ website and grant it manually. This person(s) would be in charge of deciding speaker's badge.

Do you think if that is ok?

Hi,

I see 3 badges for it more critical, we denied other events it. There are still open tickets eg. for Release Party speakers and attendees. One for all should be enough

Yeah. The only difficulty is that we have to have a trusted person who is either given the qrcode or is given the right to make qrcodes.

For speaker's badge, we can have another special QR code or organizers can decide manually.

Same problem applies here.

If you are volunteering to be responsible for the SFD badge, that would work. I'm not sure nb would want the extra responsibility.. but we could ask him. :)

I could authorize you (or both you and nb) to be able to award the badge(s) and create QRcodes for them. If people come asking the sysadmin-badges group about the badge, we can just tell them to 'go talk to tuanta'.

How does that sound?

Tuanta: I think you can take this responsibility. Those who are asking for the badge can send you a link of the event page for giving attendees badge and report of the event later.

Yes, I am ready to take this new responsibility.

I just need some guidelines what I need to do and how to do those.

OK, I have created the badge here https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/sfd-organizer and tuanta's account has been authorized to administer it.

tuanta, if you know of people who have organized SFD events somewhere, just go ahead and award them the badge. You should be able to do that when logged in and looking at the badge page https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/sfd-organizer

For future SFD events, organizers should get in touch with you. You should verify that they did in fact play some role in organizing SFD events somewhere and then you can award them the badge. Just use your best judgement, please. :)

I'm going to close the ticket now since the badge is pushed out, but if we need more discussion now or in the future, please feel free to re-open it.

Looking at this email[1] on the ambassadors list, it appears like speakers are supposed to provide their FAS accounts too. I'm speaking at the SFD event in Hanoi, so here goes:
